This was a keypoint in which my personal doubts began about 4 or 5 yrs back - I did a very detailed study using the Berkley Mortality Tables to extract a number that would be close to the way the decline should happen - I started with the 'partakers' numbers in 1941, and did an empirical decline based on age, gender, and actual mortalities in that group - of course since I did not know the precise makeup of the group in 1941, I had to assign that based on typical community age, size percentages for that year and apply it to the organization - then do the age reduction year by year - group by group -

Bottom line -although I am not a statistical scientist - was that the best scenario for the year 2004 would be about 1200 survivors. I repeated the numbers about three times using slight variables - still never got any thing better than 1200 or so for the year 2004. Someone was wrong here - things started to smell funny in Brooklyn to me.

This took a long time - but I was trying to understand what I percieved a fundamental flaw in the matter - if one looks at the partakers number starting in about 1990 - there has been little change. This during the period that should mark the 'greatest decline'. But it did not - it showed the greatest resitance to falling of any time period since 1941-

From there I went to the matter of 607- investigative direction took me to Penton, Franz, Jonsson. By then I was fully convinces of the great fraud!

As they say 'the rest was history' and here I am - among these happy apostates.

Worldwide Growth At 2% - the new service report

So if all the biggies are loosing ground or just holding even - where is the 2% worldwide growth at?

Could it be that the major industrial nations listed above - with a high percentage of internet access - are being affected due to that access? And all the poorer countries are still in a mode where there is no way to investigate - that won't work out well for the WTS since they will not be able to generate funds as well from the third world nations.... HMMMM this might start getting interesting now

i was assigned to read 1984 by george orwell when in the eight grade i think.

now forty years to late to turn in a 'book report' i am reading it.

i see so many parallels to the witness org there.

well at least the copy I am reading is "1984" is large digits - I can't recall if it was Nineteen Eighty Four when I was younger or not - good ?

Good point, Confused. But weren't cliff's notes 'worldly'?

Actually, I did the addition. It was only 36 years ago I was in the 8th grade. Glad to get that cleared up before someone thinks I am 'old'.

What is your most ridiculous example of shunning?

sorry to min or others if this has been talked about.. mine came with the pre 1975 panic to come back to the "truth"before it was too late.. i signed up again in 1970...what a dummy.. my mother was dfed so that meant that i had to shun her.

My Mom was baptized in '60 - I don't think she attended more than a dozen meetings after the initial year of 'love bombing' ended. She raised us around the 'truth' - the brothers would come by and study and so forth, but she never got active again. Then in 1974(?) when the organization put out the 'No Smoking' sign, an elder approached me (I was in the 'truth' by then) and asked about Mom's habit. By now she had been inactive for most of the past 14 years - the elders never came to see her- but they did now and DF'd her after 6 months for smoking.

She was shunned, of course. But the point that I make is the unneccessary pain caused in this instance. The result? She left my Dad, ran off to live a life of wine and men in another state, over the pain of thinking she was 'dead anyway'. She came back, went to enough meetings to get Reinstated, then never came back to the hall again. The last 30 years of her life must have been a living hell, thinking that soon the end would come and she would die for smoking (she resumed, but was never netted again).

Jesus said "By their fruit you will recognize them". What rotten fruitage they have displayed. She died 6 months ago, and other than one kind elder (who had been my friend for the 30 I was in) - not a damned one of the self righteous son'o'bitches in the whole congregation showed up.

Jesus also said 'Hypocrites, offspring of Vipers" - how true.

Big Brother, the thought police, no one ever allowed to question or even look like they will question the overlord government without quick and lethal punishment, ect.

Just wondered if others had read and felt a complete connection to the principle character Winston?
